I checked my garden yesterday, and was pleasantly surprised to find a big leafy, healthy-ish basil plant. In truth, I had forgotten that I planted it at all. I have a love hate relationship with basil. I love the stuff, but I can't seem to grow it for the life of me. So, I celebrated the success of my forgotten little plant by lopping off half of it, and tossing it in the blender with garlic, olive oil, parmesan and pine nuts. I also attempted to make homemade pasta which was a complete flop, but it still tasted good with the pesto on it!

That looks wonderful! I haven't tried to plant basil, but it is on my list of herbs to plant in my soon to be new herb garden.
